Due to the increase in problems with wireless submissions we are requesting that all students who are taking their exams on laptops please write the file name and file size that is created after Electronic Submission is confirmed, on the covers of the exam blue books. This will ensure to the student and the exam proctor’s that the exams were properly stored on our server and that the student will not have to return to campus and resubmit their exam. As always please make sure you have an active internet connection before starting the exam. You can do those by going to any websites and making sure you can open links from them. Below you will find the final confirmation screen that lists the filename and file size.

UB Law Faculty Urges You to Sign Up Now for Free Associate
Membership in a Section of the Maryland State Bar Association
In order to help UB law students gain legal experience and exposure to
the practice of law, the University of Baltimore School of Law has
arranged for all rising 2nd, 3rd and 4th year law students to be
registered free of charge as associate members of the Maryland State Bar
Association (MSBA). Because the first round of membership will start
July 1, 2008, all current students not graduating in May will be
enrolled.
The membership includes automatic enrollment in the Young Lawyers
Section PLUS one section of each student's choice. Sign up now by

(1) You will gain access to the section's list serve. We anticipate
this will make you aware of, and open the door for your involvement in,
public service and legislative efforts important to the section of your

service or employment opportunities for which you may apply. When UB law
students participate in programs and volunteer to assist with projects -
and perform well and professionally - more doors will open, for lawyers'
participation in the UB EXPLOR program and in our mentoring program, as
well as for paid employment opportunities.

(2) The associate membership will give you the opportunity to
network, be regularly informed of and attend section and general bar

With exam time rapidly approaching, I thought I’d take a little space to talk about the exam software. My suggestion is to make sure that you have downloaded the most recent version from the exam4.com site. The version you used for midterms, or for last semester won’t work. I would also recommend playing with the software and submitting a practice exam, just to make sure things are set up correctly before you take the exam for real. There have been some problems with mac users who have updated to Leopard. OTS suggests doing a new install from the disks rather than doing an update.
The YouTube video we made last year on how to use the software is still valid. You can find it on the library’s MySpace page or directly from YouTube.
We also have a powerpoint presentation on the same topic, as well as an FAQ.
What we wrote last semester about the exam software still holds true.

- Students who graduate will have full Westlaw access through May 31, 2007 (or the end month during which they graduate).
- Graduating students may apply for a free password to use while studying for the bar. Graduating students will be receiving an email with the link to register for Bar Study password. The passwords will be good for 10 hours or through July 31, which ever comes first.
- Students have access to career service databases for one year after graduation. Access to Law Students/Attorney Jobs Online is not included in the career service database access.
- Continuing students hours are reduced to two hours in June and two hours in July. All student passwords are returned to full access August 1 of each year.
- However, students who are taking summer school classes, working for a professor, are conducting law review & journal work, or are moot court members may extend their passwords for the summer. In addition, students who are working in an unpaid, non-profit public interest (non-governmental) internship/externship or pro bono work required for graduation may also extend their passwords.
