Holy iPhone App, Batman!

Once again, proving the usefulness of Twitter, I find out (via @elizabethf) that Lexis has released a free iPhone/iPodTouch app that allows users to get cases from Lexis and to Shepardize them. You do need to have a current Lexis account. Still, how cool is that?

Cool Firefox add-ons

Add-ons are Firefox extensions that one can add to the basic browser to add new features. Bonnie Sucha, a super librarian at the University of Wisconsin Law Library, has put together a list of add-ons useful for legal/library researchers. Go check ‘em out.

Truly Amazing

From nextgov:  GSA signs deal for agencies to use social networking sites. The mind boggles at the possibilities. Or Congress can place scanned versions of bills on Flickr and let the public comment on them that way.   Congresspersons are already twittering about proceedings.

The Daily Record has a blog

The Daily Record’s blog, On the Record, is actually 2 blogs in one – one for business and one for law. This mirrors the focus of the Daily Record itself.  Best of all, you can go to On the Record for both parts. They also have RSS feeds for each blog, as well as for videos they produce.

Libraries and Facebook

The Law Librarian Blog reports on a study by librarians at Valparaiso on the attitudes of students toward libraries’ use of Facebook. The biggest concerns are those regarding mixing of private/work/library spheres. This is of particular interest to me, because I manage our library’s Facebook page.

Tranparancy made real

From the website:
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will be carried out with full transparency and accountability — and Recovery.gov is the centerpiece of that effort. In a short video, President Obama describes the site and talks about how you’ll be able to track the Recovery Act’s progress every step of the way.
